Motivating and Inspiring Change in the Child Welfare System

After Chauncey moved to northern Virginia, he worked with a couple of different private treatment foster care agencies and foundations, and he found, really, his love and passion for not just doing the direct work but trying to impact how the policies are made, how the decisions are made that influence the work that we’re doing. The last place he ended up was the public sector, Fairfax County, which at the time had the largest number of kids in care. That experience gave him a little sense of understanding of all the things that have to happen even before kids come to enCircle or a private agency. He just realized that there was so much work that had to be done to improve how we’re doing things on the public side that did have a negative effect on kids in care. So he decided to take a leap of faith and branch out as a consultant with his own firm. Chauncey's training and consulting services encourage audiences to take action towards improving the outcomes of children and families involved in the child welfare system.

Jen's Inspiring Journey

Ten years ago, a woman named Jen Naze was in a car accident that completely changed her life. The impact of the car accident broke her spine, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down.  If someone told her 10 years ago that she would be sitting around the rest of her life, she would have laughed! Who has time for that? Since that day, she has been given the opportunity to overcome obstacles each day, inspire others, and through it all remain steadfast in her faith and belief that she is here today to teach others, motivate and inspire, overcome obstacles, and keep her shoes clean!
