How to Talk about Suicide: Dr. Brooke  Ammerman

This talk provides guidance on having open, supportive conversations about suicide. It covers common fears, misconceptions, and best practices for responding with empathy. Attendees will learn how to recognize warning signs, ask about suicide in a nonjudgmental way, and connect someone to appropriate resources.

Tonya will share her experiences of growing up as an adopted child and engage in a discussion about the topic of international adoptions.

Advocating for Adoptive, Foster, & Kinship Families In Wisconsin: Jared Key

Jared serves on our board as the Legislation Chair, representing WFAPA in meetings with legislators and county employees throughout Wisconsin to advocate for reforms in foster care. His goal is to engage with more foster care families and individuals who have lived through the foster care system, listen to their experiences, and collect feedback to guide proposed changes.

The Life Coach 4 Kids: Betsy White

Betsy White is a Certified Holistic Life Coach and speaker supporting kids, parents and teachers, and schools  to be empowered, confident and connected. Having navigated childhood trauma, low self esteem, numerous health issues, dysfunctional systems at home and school, Betsy has dedicated her life to supporting kids, and the adults in their lives, navigate stress, anxiety, overwhelm and lack of purpose. My approach is fun with lots of out-of-the-box thinking around ways to support healthier relationships with self and others.  I am passionate about helping the world be a better place for kids and those who support their journeys. In an ever changing, technology and social media focused world, she empowers people to turn inward to their true source of wisdom.
