What we have done in FASPP so far...
Name of Program with Acronym: FASPP/ Foster and Adoptive Support and Preservation Program
Focus for the Program: Allegations/ Information
Mission Statement: FASSP's mission is to meet the needs of foster and adoptive parents statewide through a network of peer driven support and information which will help to preserve foster and adoptive families
Structure of Program: 5 workers/5 regions 5 subs for each region
WFAPA Board will oversee the 5 workers who will report directly to Norma Schoenberg, the SAAN Committee Chair
Advisory Board will advise WFAPA and be used as a sounding board for issues and direction
Job Posting is complete/ description of a volunteer
Letter written and approval by board when we are seeking volunteers that will be going to Foster Care Coordinators and those in Private Agencies
Data collection sheets are completed and monthly report sheets are completed and approved by board
Issues with cell phones and companies have been reviewed and decided. Confidentiality issues have been reviewed.
Information from other states who have a similar program in place was gone over.
Training was a huge decision with topics to be included in the training. Lots of ideas were generated. Central location was discussed.
Inclusion of Kinship partners for our piece on allegations
Agreement form was discussed and the ideas from Nebraska's program best fit our needs. This has been approved by the board
Sherry (Pres) went to the WAA (Western Adoption Association) partnership meeting in Sept to discuss FASPP and what they are trying to start in their region.
Fundraising. Grants, money and how to get it is the hot item now. We can't move forward without this!
Brochure and Fact Sheet have been agreed upon....once phone numbers are established, these two items will be sent to the Printer for Publishing!
The Reference Flip Chart for the Volunteers is currently being editted and will be finalized at the next meeting...that too will be sent to the Printers for Publishing next month!
Location and Dates for Volunteer Training have been set (Ashland, WI- October 24-26)
