WFAPA has some great speakers lined up for Spring 2010's Conference! Jeff Cotton will be speaking. Jeff has worked with families and children for 30 years and is a nationally-known speaker and National Foster Parent Association trainer. He will speak on Stress and How to Deal with Stress on Friday night. Legal issues are always confusing...especially with all the recent and upcoming changes to the Foster Care System. Carol Gapen and Lynn Bodi from Madison will be speaking on Child Welfare Law.

Parenting a child with RAD (Reactive Attachment Disorder) is no easy job, yet many foster parents do this every day. Diane Spade and Heidi Z. will discuss RAD and, in particular, dealing with schools. They will give suggestions for IEPs and present a new Assessment Tool.

Norma Schoenburg will be holding a discussion for SAAN (Surviving Allegations of Abuse and Neglect) Saturday morning as well.

As always, WFAPA will have a networking session, this time "Ya Da Ya Da Ya Da" will take place on Saturday. This is your chance to talk with other foster/adoptive parents and let WFAPA know what your concerns in the Foster Care and Adoption world are.
